Who I am
I'm a systems engineer specializing in distributed systems and robotics—building software where correctness, latency, and real-time behavior matter. My background spans high-cardinality search platforms (15M+ records, sub-100ms p95), CDC data pipelines, and industrial robotics with motion control systems. I'm comfortable moving from SQL query optimization to oscilloscope debugging.
How I work
I prioritize correctness first, then latency, then ergonomics for the people operating the system at 3 a.m. That means: clear service boundaries, readable observability, staged rollouts with rollback paths, and documentation that matches reality. I prefer small, sharp tools over sprawling platforms.
What I Build
Software systems
Trading-card search platform handling 15M+ records with sub-100ms queries. Kafka/Debezium CDC pipelines feeding Postgres and Elasticsearch. FastAPI pricing services with real-time market data. Operator dashboards replacing paper-and-Slack workflows.
Robotics & hardware
Card digitization machines with synchronized multi-camera capture and ML inference. High-throughput sorting systems with motion control, conveyor synchronization, and real-time telemetry. Production systems handling delicate, high-value inventory.
Currently
Operating a trading-card search and pricing platform, maintaining CDC pipelines into Postgres/Elasticsearch, and running production card digitization and sorting machines. Experimenting with homelab distributed systems and new product ideas.
